Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a competent, proactive, and people-oriented HR Officer to join our team in Abuja. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of HR operations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, labour law, and general human resources practices. The successful candidate will support the organization in attracting and retaining high-quality talent, maintaining effective employee relations, ensuring compliance with applicable labour regulations, and implementing HR policies and processes that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide timely support to employees and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files.
  • Support onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, leave administration, and employee exits.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and processes are consistently implemented.
  • Prepare HR reports and provide relevant workforce information to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee information.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to interviews, selection, and onboarding.
  • Develop effective talent-sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Screen applications, conduct interviews, coordinate assessments, and support hiring decisions.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of suitable candidates for current and future vacancies.
  • Support employer-branding and employee attraction initiatives.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate and support the organization's performance management processes.
  • Assist managers and employees with goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Monitor performance-management timelines and ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Identify performance gaps and support the implementation of improvement plans where required.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
  • Handle employee concerns, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues professionally and confidentially.
  • Promote positive employee relations and a healthy, respectful workplace culture.
  • Support management in resolving workplace conflicts and maintaining employee engagement.

Labour Law & Compliance

  • Maintain sound knowledge of applicable Nigerian labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory HR requirements.
  • Ensure HR practices and employment processes comply with relevant laws and organizational policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and advise management accordingly.
  • Support the organization in maintaining proper employment documentation and statutory compliance.

HR Policy & Employee Development

  • Assist in reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify training and development needs and support relevant learning initiatives.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, retention, welfare, and organizational culture initiatives.
  • Support HR projects and other people-related initiatives as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications


Job Requirement


  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a structured or fast-paced organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR operations and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Good understanding of performance management and employee relations.
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and employment practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS, ERP or other HR management systems is an advantage.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Abuja, Nigeria
Candidates resident in Abuja are preferred. Proximity to the Asokoro axis or nearby areas will be an added advantage.
